Friday was spent driving back to National Park Village.  Nice sunny day.  We stopped at Rotorua.  Rotorua is known for it's thermal activity.  We started to walk thru a park/thermal area.  The smell was so bad that we cut that short.  It is the rotten egg smell.  You could even taste it!?

Continued on to Lake Taupo.  This is a beautiful area. Mount Ngauruhoe, Mount Tongariro, Mount Ruapehu are seen for many miles.  Mount Ngauruhoe is Mount Doom that Erin climbed earlier.  For the Tongariro Crossing Hike tomorrow, we will be passing through this area.
